Troy joined the Boss Shop team back in 2001 in Salina, Kansas as a Shop Technician. He quickly showed promise in the industry and moved up to an Assistant Manager position. In 2005, Troy had the opportunity to take over as the General Manager of that very same Salina, Kansas Boss Shop where he started. Over the next few years, Troy moved from the Salina Boss Shop to take over as General Manager in Rapid City, South Dakota, Altoona, Iowa and finally Grand Island, Nebraska. During his time at each of these Boss Shops, Troy took pride in his team and helped each location grow. Troy was finally promoted to Regional Manager in 2011 to oversee many of the shops he used to operate. He is still happy to get under a truck and turn wrenches right beside the Shop Technicians that are now looking to follow in his footsteps.
We train every one of our Shop Technicians to be TIA Certified. These certifications ensure that we offer the best service to our customers and give our customers the peace of mind that their tires are going to get them to their destination.
We believe in being life-long learners, and we encourage our Shop Technicians to persue ASE Certifications. We offer ASE test reimbursement if you pass individual ASE tests as well as a bonus for passing each test!
If you are promoted to a Manager position at one of our shops, you first go through our Manager-in-Training (MIT) process. During this training process, you will train with another one of our top managers to learn everything there is to know about each position on your team and how to successfully operate your very own Boss Shop. Once fully trained, you will have the opportunity to take over your very own Boss Shop as General Manager.
