9/11 Remembrance & Dedication of a section of World Trade center steel to take place at Bosselman Travel Center

A 9/11 Remembrance and Dedication Ceremony for a section of steel from the World Trade Center attacks on September 11, 2001 will take place on September 11, 2007 at 10:03 am at the Bosselman Travel Center located at US Hwy 281 and Interstate 80, Grand Island, Nebraska.

Micki Shelton and Brian Howard LaRoche, community supporters and volunteers in the post-9/11 attacks, were able to acquire the piece of steel, which is believed to be from an area of Tower 1 that was struck by American Airlines Flight 11 as it exited through the building. The steel was originally brought to Grand Island on the first anniversary of 9/11 and was signed by local firefighters, police officers, EMTs, veterans and citizens.

The steel piece will be displayed in a commemorative case at the Grand Island Bosselman Travel Center.

The public is welcome to attend the dedication and refreshments will be served.
